Renewal of TM Application for Opposition in Syria Published within (90) Days from the Publication Date

DAMASCUS - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) would like to remind its clients that in accordance with Article (34/ B) of the Syrian Intellectual Property Law NO. 8/2007, the renewal application is published for opposition within (90) days from the publication date.

The purpose of this procedure is to enable third parties, (whose trademarks could have been registered imitatively by fraudulent registrants in Syria under the former law) to oppose such trademarks upon their renewal applications under the new law in the country.

This opposition procedure applies only for the first renewal of the mark under the new law (i.e. the next renewal application after 10 years will not be subject to such an opposition).

The renewal official fees are same ones of the new trademark filings. Howerver, we reduced our professional charges.
