AGIP Participates in INTA Leadership Meeting 2005 – USA

AMMAN - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) Regional Office Executive Director, Mr. Charles Sha’ban, participated in the International Trademark Association (INTA) 2005 Leadership Meeting in Naples, Florida, USA, November 9-12, 2005.

This year’s event brought together INTA’s board of directors, committee chairs and vice chairs, subcommittee chairs, committee members as well as past presidents to exchange ideas, conduct important business and network with their colleagues from around the world.

"Intellectual property experts presented advanced educational sessions, providing attendees with valuable information on the latest developments in trademark law," said Mr. Sha’ban, who is a member in the INTA Internet Committee/ Registration Practice and Domain Name System (DNS) Administration Subcommittee.

The educational sessions covered the following themes: Design Law for the Trademark Lawyer, Global Brands Make Global Demands, Establishing and Presenting Evidence - Views from the Bench and Bar, Trademarks and Taxes, Advertising Issues and Advertising Clearance, Ethics and Professionalism in Trademark Practice and Trademark Triage.

INTA’s committees are divided into two groups - Education and Information Services (EIS) and Policy Development and Advocacy (PDA). These groups are made up of many committees and subcommittees that work to further INTA’s strategic directions by focusing on specific areas of importance to the Association and its members.
