Changes in Filing Requirements for Trademark Applications in Turkey

Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) would like to notify its clients that the requirements for filing trademark applications in Turkey have changed as of April 11, 2005.

Requirements for filing trade/service /collective mark applications have become as follows:

  1. A simply signed power of attorney.

  2. A certified copy of the corresponding home registration, if any, or a certificate of activity issued by the Chamber of Commerce in the applicant's home country.

  3. Five prints of the trademark (not required for word marks).

  4. The list of the goods/services and the classes pertaining thereto.

  5. A certified copy of the priority document, which can be submitted within three months form the date of filing, in the case that it is claimed.

Please note that the aforementioned documents must be submitted with the application at the time of filing.

Moreover, charges for filing trademark applications in one class, 2 classes, 3 classes, and filing a mark application in each additional class included in the same application have all been modified.
