Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGO) lectured about the features and components of the so-called new global system at Abdel Hamid Shoman Forum on January 5, 2004 in Amman, Jordan.
In a seminar entitled “the New in the New Global System”, Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Vice-Chair of the UN Information and Communications Technology Task Force (UN ICT TF), highlighted the elements of the new global system; one of the these elements is globalization, second is trade global system, financial global system, hypothetical global system, social global system and political global system.
Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh elaborated on the aforesaid components clarifying their role and effects on the global system.
Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his concerns regarding the growing digital gap between the developed and developing countries from one side and the internal gap within the same country from the other.
Therefore, he submitted a proposal on Internet Governance during the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS), which was held in Geneva last December on behalf of the UN ICT TF. Such proposal aims at bridging the gap between those who possess technology and others who don’t.
Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh concluded by anticipating that the international relationships will replace global relationships, foreign exchange markets will be more centralized and gaps will grow bigger.
