Oman Allows Foreign Firms to Register .om, .com.om and .co.om Domains Without Trademark

OMAN - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Oman has announced a policy change that allows foreign companies to register .om, .com.om, and .co.om domain names without submitting a trademark registration. This update simplifies the domain registration process for international businesses while also maintaining safeguards against trademark conflicts in Oman.

Under the new TRA guidance, it is no longer required for the domain name to match the company name, as long as it does not conflict with any registered trademark in Oman. Moreover, applicants are only required to provide a scanned copy of their commercial registration or equivalent company documents when applying for the .om, .com.om, or .co.om domains.
