AGIP Participates in ESCWA’s Arab High-level Forum on WSIS and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

BEIRUT - Under the patronage of Lebanon’s Prime Minister HE Mr. Saad El-Hariri, ESCWA organized the Arab High-level Forum on WSIS and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in partnership with the Ministry of Telecommunications and in collaboration with OGERO Telecom, May 10-12, 2017, Beirut, Lebanon.
Represented by its Executive Director, Mr. Charles Shaban, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) participated in the Forum, as well as the Expert Group Meetings (EGM) that were held two days before the event.
As the chair of the Arab Multistakeholder Advisory Group (AMAG), Mr. Shaban, discussed during the Meeting, the studies related to World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) and the evolution of the Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
During the Forum, Mr. Shaban discussed in his presentation new business models in the domain name in our region, and shared TAG-Domains experience in this field.
Commenting on his participation, Shaban said: “We value our partnership with ESCWA and other stakeholders in trying to accomplish the WSIS sustainable goals and other related projects in our region. The event was a great opportunity to evaluate accomplishments and plan for the future."
