Implementing Regulations for Trademark Law Issued in Oman

16-Jul-2005

Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry, Maqbool Bin Ali Bin Sultan, issued Ministerial decision No. 62/2005 on June 25, 2005, stipulating the issuance of the Implementing Regulations for the Law of Trademarks, Trade Data, Undisclosed Trade Information, and Protection from Unfair Competition, promulgated by the Sultanic Decree No. 38/2000.

The Implementing Regulations were published in the Official Gazette No. 795 dated July 16, 2005, and entered into force as of the same date.
The main changes in the Implementing Regulations concentrated on the official fees for trademark related services which the Intellectual Property Department (IPD) at the Ministry provides. The new charges have increased substantially.

Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) has amended its schedule of charges to reflect this increase in the official fees. Please visit www.agip.com to find the newly updated charges.
