Abu-Ghazaleh Legal announced that it has successfully completed the last copyright training session for the Ministry of Information in Bahrain on April 19, 2005.
The training program, which started last October, and was presented in five different workshops, defined and introduced the concept of intellectual property and tackled the topics of copyright and related rights; international treaties and conventions of copyright; and the applications of the copyright law Bahrain.
The workshops covered many emerging aspects of copyright in Bahrain and the world, such as the protection of computer software and databases, rental rights, and broadcasting. The sessions further discussed copyright laws in different countries; court decisions, and rulings.
The sessions were delivered by experts in the field of intellectual property and copyright law. Speakers included Mr. Samer Pharaon, executive director of Abu-Ghazaleh Legal, Mr. Ziad Maraqa, regional manager of Abu-Ghazaleh Legal, Mrs. Zaria El-Yassir, intellectual property consultant in Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP), and Mr. Maher Wahab, legal advisor in Abu-Ghazaleh Legal.
