Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) India Office Manager, Mr. Khalid Al-Khalidi, delivered a lecture on intellectual property (IP) at the Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management (IISWBM) in Calcutta, on April 7, 2005.
Mr. Al-Khalidi discussed the protection of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in the Arab world, focusing on trademarks.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session where extensive discussion on the implications of IPRs in the Arab world, in addition to technology transfer agreements and licensing contracts, took place.
The lecture was attended by students of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Management, Administration and Law administered by the Heritage-rich Institute in conjunction with representatives from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development.
