Regulations for Trademark Renewals in Yemen

15-Feb-2005

According to Article 99 of Intellectual Property Law No. 19 of 1994 in Yemen, the Trademark Office at the Ministry of Industry and Trade should notify all applicants or their agents of the renewal due dates of their trademark registrations as from the expiry date of the period to renew the registration.

Therefore, the Trademark Office published a notice in Al-Thawra daily newspaper No. 14698 of February 7, 2005, stating the following:

"The owners of trademarks whose renewal has become due should apply for renewal within three months as of the date of this notice.

Failing to renew a trademark registration within the above-prescribed period empowers the Ministry to strike the trademark off the Register."
