Qatari Trademark Registrar, Mr. Ahmed Juffairi, held a meeting on February 23, 2005, with major Intellectual Property agents in Qatar, and discussed the issue of legalizing documents required for filing trademark applications in Qatar.
The Registrar announced that a power of attorney should necessarily be legalized up to the Qatari Consulate or any other Arab consulate, whereas a simple copy of commercial register or Certificate of Incorporation without legalization would be sufficient.
Clients are no longer required to legalize the copy of commercial register or the Certificate of Incorporation up to the Qatari Consulate.
