The United Arab Emirates Network Information Center (UAEnic), authority which manages the Domain Name Registration under .ae Top Level Domain, has liberated the AE domain and registrations are now conducted on first-come first-serve basis.
Certain well-known trademarks are currently facing the problem of trademark infringement through some domain registrations. In order to avoid such difficulty, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) advises interested parties to begin registering their domain names under the United Arab Emirates country-code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) .AE to obtain protection.
Registration requirements under AE domain names are as follows:
1. A power of attorney in respect of authorization is not required; instead a letter from the applicant company on its letterhead authorizing AGIP to apply for domain name registrations on their behalf is needed.
2. A list of required domain names.
3. In order to connect the (.ae) domain name with the original website, the following information is required (optional):
- The primary name server: Host Name and IP Address
- The Secondary Name Server: Host Name and IP Address
