Syria Joins Nice Agreement

The Government of the Syrian Arab Republic deposited its instrument of accession to the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks December 28, 2004.
The Nice Agreement will enter into force, in respect of Syria, March 28, 2005.
The Agreement, concluded in 1957, was revised in Stockholm in 1967 and in Geneva in 1977, and it was amended in 1979. It establishes a classification of goods and services for the purposes of registering trademarks and service marks.
