Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. International (TAGI), in collaboration with the Press and Publication Department at the Ministry of Information in Bahrain, is holding a five-month training course in intellectual property for the staff of the Ministry.
The first workshop of the course was held October 12-13, 2004 and tackled “the Concept of Intellectual Property and its Development.”
Lecturers include Mr. Samer Pharaon, Executive Director of Abu-Ghazaleh Legal Services (ABLE), Riyadh Office, Mr. Ziad Maraqa, ABLE Regional Office Manager, Amman and Mrs. Zaria Al-Yassir, IP Consultant, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) Bahrain Office.
Other workshops will cover: Copyright and Neighboring Rights, Technology and Copyright, Treaties and Conventions Administering Copyright and finally an Introduction to Copyright in Bahrain and its Relationship with Press and Publications Law.
