The World Intellectual Property Organization Copyright Treaty entered into force, with respect to the United Arab Emirates July 14, 2004.
The Government of UAE deposited, April 14, 2004, its instrument of accession to the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT), adopted in Geneva, December 20, 1996.
WCT aims to develop and maintain the protection of the rights of authors in their literary and artistic works. Such protection also applies to computer programs, whatever may be the mode or form of their expression.
