The Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works entered into force, with respect to the Syrian Arab Republic, June 11, 2004. On that date, Syria also became a member of the International Union for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (Berne Union), founded by the Berne Convention.
Syria deposited its instrument of accession to the Berne Convention March 11, 2004.
