PNINA Launches Its Domain Name Registration Services
01-Jul-2004
Palestine has successfully launched its own country-code Top-Level-Domain (ccTLD), namely, "PS," after negotiating for three years with Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), International Standards Organization (ISO) and the UN Offices in New York.
An independent Palestinian National Internet Naming Authority (PNINA) was formed to formulate the necessary registration policies for the PS domain and to set appropriate policies for enhancing Internet usage in Palestine. PNINA consists of representatives from the public, private, academic, legal and other sectors in addition to individuals interested in advancing and promoting the Internet usage in Palestine.
PNINA is now providing domain name registration services under the second and third level domains of PS. Registration procedure is straightforward and can be done through one of the PS accredited registrars.
