On July 4, 2000 the Tunisian Government issued the Law No. 102 for the year 2000 which acts as the implementing regulations for the Plant Variety Law No. 42 for the year 1999. These regulations clarify the procedures to be taken in the registration and the issuance of plant variety certificates.
The new draft trademark law has been scheduled to be discussed by the current Parliamentary session and is expected to be issued. This law will replace the current law which dates back to 1889.
