The Kuwaiti Patent Office has started implementing a new practice for accepting priority patent applications. According to the new practice, a priority patent application can be filed only with the following documents:
A power of attorney legalized up to the Kuwaiti consulate.
A certificate of incorporation or an extract from the commercial register legalized as above. A non-legalized English translation should be attached.
Three copies of the specification and claims and an abstract in English.
An Arabic translation of the abstract should be provided with the application.
However, the new practice allows for the Arabic translation of the specification and claims, assignment, and priority document to be filed within three months from the filing date.
