22-Jun-2015
BRUSSELS – Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) announced that it has been selected by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to conduct a study on the domain names industry in the Middle East and Adjoining Countries (MENAC).
As a member of EURid Consortium which consists of IT experts from United Kingdom and Middle East, AGIP will investigate the current state of the Internet and the domain name industry in the MENAC region, define best practices that have made an impact on the domain names growth and describe the business potentials in the domain name market.
The study will include suggestions and recommendations on how to improve the ecosystem of the Internet infrastructure within the region, and what business models can be adopted in the domain names industry.
It is worth mentioning that this study is one of the outcomes of the ICANN Middle East Engagement Strategy, which was developed by a group of community members in the MENA region to improve the domain names industry in the region.
