Gcc Patent Office: Requires Legalized Documents

01-Jun-2000

In a circular issued by the GCC Patent Office, documents to be submitted to the GCC Patent office requiring legalization, should be certified and legalized by the embassy of any countries of the GCC. (the GCC Countries are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar , Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates). The certification and legalization endorsements must be included on the document itself and not separate. If the legalization is separate from the document then there has to be a mention on the page as to the content of the document. The separate pages must all be attached together using a binding cord and there should be a stamp at the end of the binding cord.

The Patent office began applying these procedures on all documents submitted to the office as of May 15, 2000. No no-compliant document will be accepted.
