The GCC Patent Office has issued new strict instructions regarding the legalization and attestation of the documents submitted in support of any patent application. The new instructions require that any such document be attested and/or legalized in a certain manner making sure that all papers of the same document are attached together as one document and preferably to be tied together with a binding cord, rope, or any other method of binding in order to have them regarded as one document. The attestation stamp should be made at the end of the binding cord or rope from the other side of the document.
In addition, the GCC Patent Office has requested that the attestation to be effected on the same document and not on a separate sheet of paper. If the attestation is made on a separate sheet, this paper should include a reference to the contents of the document on which attestation is made or to be attached with the document as described above.
