- Two major multi-national companies, Faber-Castell Stationary and Armani, have succeeded in cancellation actions against trademark applications by local businesses whose marks were deemed confusingly similar to the well-known international marks.
- It has become possible to register color marks at the Industrial Property Office (IPO) of Iran. Applicants can specify designate colors that are visibly clear, unique, and practical in lieu of a single / multi color trademark(s). Color marks are categorized in line with the International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks.
