Due to India’s strategic location as a hub for international businesses, the need to safeguard Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) via professional IP service providers has become essential.
AGIP India Office has been fully equipped with manpower and facilities needed to promote IP-related activities professionally. AGIP India Office is now fully operational and ready to receive and carry out all your instructions. It provides various IP services: trademark, patent, copyright, design and domain name registrations, in addition to renewals and actions related to infringement, opposition and cancellation.
Located in New Delhi, the office places AGIP near the Trademark Registrar Office and the concerned consulates, courts, attorneys and agents in the IP field. This will certainly guarantee that all our clients’ IPRs are closely followed-up.
AGIP India Office will also assist IPR owners worldwide in the protection of their rights in the various countries where AGIP has correspondents, and through the AGIP network of offices.
India has taken long strides in the field of IP protection; it joined the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property December 7, 1998 and the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works April 1, 1928.
India also follows the International Classification of Goods and Services, and it has signed the Patent Convention Treaty (PCT) December 7, 1998 in a step to stipulate international IP laws and regulations.
It is noteworthy that protection of IPRs in India continues to be strengthened further. The year 1999 witnessed the consideration and passage of major legislation with regard to protection of IPRs in harmony with international practices and in compliance with India's obligations under the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS). Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, Geographical Indications and Industrial Designs are all protected in India.
