KUWAIT - The Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, and the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works will enter into force, with respect to Kuwait on December 2, 2014. On that date, Kuwait will become a member of the International Union for the Protection of Industrial Property (Paris Union), and the International Union for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works ("Berne Union").
The Government of Kuwait deposited on September 2, 2014 its instrument of accession to the Paris Convention and Berne Convention.
By joining these conventions, Kuwait becomes part of the international system for protection of authors’ rights, and by extension, the international trading system for goods and services protected by copyright. This is important for exchange of culture, entertainment, information, and technology.
