Under the Patronage and Attendance of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to Organize A Workshop on Domain Name System Security

AMMAN - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is organizing a workshop on Domain Name System Security (DNSSEC) hosted by  the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum / Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University September 8-11, 2014   under the patronage and attendance of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.



The workshop will focus on the protection of the DNS databases, protection of processes during transmission and reception, protection from electronic attacks on the DNS, safe Internet protocols and uses thereof, signature, encryption and other requirements for a safe communication environment between the users and servers.



The workshop also includes theoretical training and practical applications, as well as a visit to the National Information Technology Center in Jordan.



Mr. Charles Shaban, Executive Director of Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property, explained that the workshop will enable participants to establish Domain name systems in their organizations and countries safe.



Specialists from ICANN and participants from various key entities including information database engineers and administrators from Internet service providers (ISPs) and Domain names registries, as well as Domain names registrars from the following countries: Jordan, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, Yemen, Tunisia and Pakistan will take part in the event.



It is worth mentioning that ICANN is a non-profit organization established in 1998. ICANN staff operates the Internet domain name system and coordinates the distribution and assignment of Internet unique identifiers such as IP addresses. They are also responsible for accrediting generic top-level domain names (gTLD) registrars. ICANN also helps express the views of volunteers from all over the world dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable, while promoting competition in the area of domain names and helping in the development of Internet policies.
