India: Increase in Trademark Official Filing Fees

NEW DELHI – The Office of Controller General Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, issued a public notice on August 7, 2014 related to increase in fees for filing a trademark application.
The public notice states that the fees for filing an application to register a trademark for a specification of goods or services includes in one class has been increased from Rs. 3.500 to Rs. 4.000, and the fees for expedite examination has been increased to 20.000 respectively.
This decision is effective as from the publication date at the Official Gazette, August 1, 2014.
