WIPO: Admission of Moroccan Association of Intellectual Property Counsels as Observer
26-Sep-2013 GENEVA – During the 50th series of meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), it was decided to admit some national Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to attend the meetings of certain assemblies of WIPO as Observers.
Once an international NGO is admitted to attend the meetings of the Assemblies as an observer, it is also invited to attend meetings of committees, working groups, or other bodies subsidiary to the Assemblies, as an Observer.
As an organization concerned with Intellectual Property issues and brings together 13 Intellectual Property counsels practicing in Morocco, the Moroccan Association of Intellectual Property Counsels (AMACPI) has been chosen as an observer, thus it will have authority to speak for its members through its authorized representatives and in accordance with the rules governing the observer status.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Ahmad Hussein, manager of AGIP Office in Morocco is the general secretary of the Moroccan Association of Intellectual Property Counsels (AMACPI) and will offer constructive and substantive contributions to the deliberations of the Assemblies of WIPO through his experience in the Intellectual Property field.
