The Council of Consultants in Saudi Arabia has reviewed a draft trademark law that was proposed by the Council’s Economic Affairs Committee.
Once the council have completed their review, they shall forward the draft law to the Council of Ministers for final consideration and approval.
The draft trademark law would replace the current law and would incorporate all the various regulations and practices that have been adopted by the Trademark Office through the years.
The draft law under review has 62 articles, which outline all aspects of the trademark protection, form filing the application up to registration, as well as assignments and licensing agreements.
