100 Percent Rise in Spam E-mail Hits Companies in the Middle East

01-Jan-2004

According to Dubai Photo Media, a new campaign has revealed that companies in the Middle East are being faced with an alarmingly high amount of ‘spam’ (unsolicited commercial e-mail), with the average business in the Middle East hit by a 100 percent rise in unwanted deliveries in the past four months.
To help organizations in the Middle East tackle the problem, three of the region’s leading solution providers - Borderware Technologies, Sun Microsystems and Tech Access- unveiled a new anti-spam campaign.

As well as raising awareness of the business issues associated with unwanted e-mail overload, the campaign will enable companies to test solutions that safeguard e-mail systems at Tech Access' Solution Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a Sun Authorized iForce Ready Center.

Spam is the result of companies flooding the Internet with multiple copies of the same message-mail, usually a commercial advert, to force their message onto people who would not usually choose to receive it.
