Egypt Monopoly Prevention and Consumer Protection Draft Law

The Council of Ministers in Cairo headed by the Prime Minister Dr. Atef Ebeid is in the process of finalizing the Monopoly Prevention and Consumer Protection Draft Law that was prepared several years ago, Al-Riyadh Newspaper reported.

The law prohibits the storage of goods for unlawful purposes or manipulation of the prices and establishes a governmental body for the regulation of competition. Also, the law grants any citizen the right to inform the government of any acts that are harmful to fair competition and causes monopoly of goods.
