The regulations of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to combat illegal dumping operations and the difficulties facing Arab countries in terms of endorsing anti-dumping legislation were tackled in a seminar held May 31-June 1, in Amman, The Jordan Times reported.
The two-day event, organized by Jordan Exports Development and Commercial Centers Corporation and other economic institutions, also dealt with the outcome of extensive anti-dumping procedures within the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone.
Baha'eddine Armouti, director of the Department for the Protection of National Products at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, highlighted proposals submitted to the WTO by 30 countries to revise and amend the provisions of the agreement to combat the practice.
