Iran Joins PCT

GENEVA - The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the deposit by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on July 4, 2013, of its instrument of ratification of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), done at Washington on June 19, 1970, amended on September 28, 1979, modified on February 3, 1984, and on October 3, 2001, according to WIPO.

The said instrument of ratification contains the declaration that, pursuant to Article 64(5) of the said Treaty, the Islamic Republic of Iran does not consider itself bound by Article 59 of the said Treaty.

The said Treaty will enter into force, with respect to the Islamic Republic of Iran, on October 4, 2013.
