Public Phase of Arabic Domain Name (.masr) Launched

CAIRO - The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt launched on January 9, 2013 the third and final phase of Arabic domain name (.masr) (public Phase).

During this phase, anyone can apply for the Arabic domain name (.masr) whether consumer, business or government, as long as the Arabic domain name registration is available.

The registration in this phase will begin after the end of the first and the second phases that required providing the official papers which prove the ownership of the domain name.

The entities and companies that would register their domain names with Arabic letters under the international Top-Level Domain (TLD) (.masr) would be able to complete the registration process through the websites of the licensees on a first come, first served basis.

.masr presents a new opportunity to expand the number of Internet users and enhance the Arabic identity for Egypt.
