Qatar Receives First National Patent Application under the PCT

DOHA – The Center for Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Qatar, affiliate to the Ministry of Justice, has announced receiving of the first national patent application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

Prior to the filing, the national phase PCT applications should be examined by the GCC Patent Office.
Therefore, the Qatari Center has set up requirements for filing the national applications as follows:

- Complete specification of the invention including abstract, claims and drawings in English and Arabic, as well as a CD including the same.
- A copy of the inventor’s passport.
- Completing the Arabic application form.
