The Syrian Arab Republic deposited its instrument of accession to the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works on March 11, 2004.
The Berne Convention will enter into force, with respect to Syria, on June 11, 2004. On that date, Syria will also become a member of the International Union for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works ("Berne Union"), founded by the Berne Convention.
