The mechanism of trademark registration in Iraq comprises four stages initiated by filing the application and concluded by issuing the certificate. The party responsible for trademarks registration in Iraq is the trademarks registrar represented by the Iraqi Industries Union. It is the institution authorized to register such trademarks and assumes the responsibility for their protection under Law No. (21) of the year 1957 and its amendments.
