LadasDomains LLC has been approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to become the first US based law firm affiliated domain name registrar.
A press release issued by LadasDomains applauded the accreditation promising for more legal protection for domain names.
"The entire purpose of this enterprise is to support established, legitimate brand owners with their efforts to protect consumers and with their right to extend brands into the burgeoning Internet environment," said Dermot Horgan, Vice President of LadasDomains.
LadasDomains is an affiliate of Ladas & Parry LLP, an IP law firm established in 1912 to assist US firms in their international patent and trademark activities.
It became one of the major US law firms involved in securing and enforcing IP and related rights in the US and throughout the world.
