Computer Software Authors Act

According to the law, the authors of computer software own the rights of reproduction, presentation, enforcement and economic and moral exploitation or utilization over it. The duration of economic rights is 30 years from the date of creation. The duration of moral rights is unlimited. The name, title and mark that introduce the software enjoy the protection provided under this law. No one is entitled to use them for another software of the same or similar kind that creates doubts of similarity. The legislation provides protection only if the subject was first produced and distributed in Iran.
