The GCC Patent Office is currently in the process of issuing decisions of grant for (19) patent applications that passed the substantive examination. These decisions will be dispatched shortly. The parties concerned, or their attorneys, will be requested to settle the publication and grant fees.
The next procedure according to the GCC Patent Law is to publish the grant decision in the Official Gazette.
The Ministerial Decision No. 68 for the amendment of the Implementing Regulations and the Ministerial decision No. 6 for 1993 requires the following :
- full documents must be enclosed for the recording of an assignment. Article 1 is amended by deleting the wording "and if the assignee is a company, a certificate of entry in the Trade Registry is required". With this amendment the certificate of incorporation or a certificate attesting the legal existence of the assignee company is no longer a requirement when filing a an assignment application.
- The second Article in the same decision advises that when the assignment is published the list of good/services which have been assigned should be included in the publication notice.
