The Syrian Proprietary Protection Department has issued new procedures as follows:
1. Any power of attorney document to be submitted in respect of any type of application should be authenticated by the competent authorities in the country of the applicant.
Accordingly, AGIP recommend that all applicants send power of attorney documents notarized and legalized up to the foreign affairs ministry in their countries.
2. An examination fee should be paid in respect of every patent application.
