Join WTO in 2003

   The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is currently conducting its final arrangements and preparations to join World Trade Organization (WTO) at the end of the current year after negotiations lasted for 7 years with the WTO member states.
 
 Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, the Chief of the Saudi Negotiators, Mr. Fawaz Al-Alami, stated that 16 bilateral cooperation treaties will be signed with the WTO members during the next period after concluding 13 bilateral treaties in the past.
 
 The Protocol of Accession will be submitted to the General Council in WTO to be unanimously adopted by the 146 members. Subsequently, and after one month of the completion of ratification procedures, Saudi Arabia will be announced as full member of WTO.
