The new Tunisian Trademark Law No. 36 was issued on April 17, 2001. This law will be effective once the implementing regulations have been issued. It is expected that publication of the implementing regulations will take place shortly. The trademark law which is TRIPs-compliant will create a new system of registration in Tunisia that requires examination of trademarks in all respects.
