Battling with Copyright Infringements
A joint committee from the Qatari Shoura Council has held a meeting in Doha recently to discuss a proposed draft law for the protection of copyright and neighboring rights in the Gulf State.

The joint committee is made of the Qatari Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs and the Qatari Information and Communication Committee. The Qatar Trademark Office, meanwhile, has formed a special body to patrol the local market in a step to charge against imitated products. Qatar, along with the rest of the Arab Gulf States, has realized the urgency to combat copyright infringements as the region embraces international business laws and regulations.
