The European Patent Office (EPO), in collaboration with Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) and the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP), will present, a workshop on ‘institutional capacities of IP offices in the Near East’. The workshop, which will take place in Beirut on October 28-29, will be held under the patronage of the Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Basil Fleihan.
The EPO will present an overview of its own activities and capacities as a major player regarding technical assistance in the IP field worldwide. A regional perspective on the development of IP legislations and enforcement will be presented by Abu-Ghazaleh Legal Services (ABLE). Specific examples of such legislations in the Arab countries will also be discussed.
