Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) would like to announce that it has incorporated a new service to be offered to its clients in China. The new service is known as “Customs Recordal for Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs)” and it covers trademarks, patents and copyrights.
The new service will provide clients with the protection needed in coordination with the local customs authorities, by seizing suspected infringed or counterfeited goods, and report the goods and name of the exporter to the registered clients.
By registering the IPRs with the General Customs Administration of China, the local customs will detain, or at the request of the IPRs owner, the goods to be exported from or being imported into Chinese borders, which are identical or similar to the recorded trademark.
Furthermore, AGIP China Office, in coordination with the Chinese authorities, will run inspection process of the goods at the local customs and lodge a complaint with local customs authorities in China. In addition, the Office will provide necessary assistance to the customs in their investigation upon their requests.
