We wish to inform our clients and friends that although decree (No. 12/2001) regulating copyright protection was issued in Syria on February 28, 2001, and a new department was established in the Syrian Ministry of Culture to enforce this new legislation, no firm implementing regulations are yet issued. Thus, governmental fees have not been specified. According to the head of the new department, the regulations and the fees are expected to be issued at the beginning of next year.
