West Bank Introduces Changes in Trademark Practice
23-Jan-2020 To facilitate the trademark filing process in the West Bank, a trademark application can be filed along with a scanned simply signed Power of Attorney; however, the simply signed Power of Attorney should be notarized, legalized up to the concerned Palestinian Consulate and submitted at the Trademarks Office within one month as from the filing date.
An extension of one additional month for submitting the original legalized Power of Attorney could be obtained upon request; meanwhile, failure to submit the Power of Attorney within the given grace period allows the Registrar to drop the trademark application.
Furthermore, any Power of Attorney executed 10 years ago will not be acceptable for filing new applications as from July 1, 2020.
