AGIP Turkey and TAGLegal Turkey Attend the Conference on “Examination, Validity and Conditions for Design Infringement”

ANKARA - A high profile delegation representing Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property Turkey Office (AGIP Turkey) and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Legal Turkey (TAGLegal Turkey) took part in the Conference on “Examination, Validity and Conditions for Design Infringement” within the Twinning Project “Supporting Turkey for Enhancing Implementation and Enforcement of Industrial Property Rights” held recently at the Turkish Patent Institute, Ankara.
In the Conference, the European Union Acquis, registration procedures, infringements and cancellation of nonregistered designs were discussed as well as the previous and actual decisions given by the European Court of Justice.
As the Conference mainly focused on the implementations in the European Union, the key speakers were largely EU Internal Market and Harmonization Office (OHIM) experts and German judges, while the implementations in Turkey were presented by Turkish judges and experts. The key titles of the Conference included but not limited to European Design Law, Infringement of a Design Right, Relationship between Registered and Nonregistered Designs, the Strategies to be Adopted in Case of Infringements.
The participation of TAGLegal Turkey and AGIP Turkey was with a view to obtain the newly update information regarding the latest applications in the field of design rights in the European Union. Participants were awarded with a certificate by the Turkish Patent Institute President & Project Leader, Mr. Habib Asan and the Resident Twinning Advisor, Dr. Oliver Schön.
