AGIP Turkey Office Attends 'Counterfeit Products Exhibition' in Ankara
21-Oct-2010 ANKARA – Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) Turkey Office has attended the Counterfeit Producta Exhibition organized by Turkish Patent Institute and German International Legal Cooperation Association in October 9, 2010 in Ankara Antares Shopping Mall.
In the exhibition various caricatures have been shown aiming at emphasizing the danger of counterfeit products which constitute an amount of 200 billion dollars of the international trade. This amount is higher than the gross national product of 150 countries in the world.
Our office in Turkey has visited the exhibition in order to support the efforts of Turkish Institute to fight against counterfeiting and to raise the awareness of public about the danger of counterfeit prooducts.
Commenting on this event, Ms. Ozlem Ozgur Arslan, AGIP Turkey Office Executive Director said, “Counterfeiting and piracy are a major threat to the Turkish economy. Fake goods aften pose a real threat to the people buying them.”
“We have experienced various kind of cosmetics, cigarettes with dangerous levels. The real key ot abort this threat is the public,” she added.
